Across every field, successful working professionals reach a point in their careers where they ask: “What’s next for me, and what will be my legacy?” Georgetown is answering that question with a new, non-degree program: The Fellowship for the Common Good. This experience is specifically designed for leaders with significant professional experience who are ready to pivot from success to significance.

Beginning in Fall 2027, this year-long program will immerse Fellows in intellectual, philosophical and personal reflection with the end goal of using their experience to advance societal well-being. Fellows will learn from policy leaders, subject matter experts and other changemakers in the nation’s capital in order to become “people for others.” Every Fellow will leave the program with a Purpose Plan, intentionally crafted during the core curriculum, to help address an issue of their choosing.

The Fellowship for the Common Good is based on Georgetown’s unique strengths and values:

  • 500 years of commitment to the common good. Georgetown’s founding Jesuit tradition of reflection on meaning and collective well-being is offered inclusively to leaders of all faith traditions and practices. Fellows need not have a spiritual background or affiliation to participate.
  • The ideal city for impact. Washington, DC has an unmatched density of interconnected agencies, policy institutions and nonprofits. Fellows will work directly with policy and civic society leaders through biweekly briefing sessions, while also enjoying access to Georgetown’s world-class faculty, staff and institutes focused on addressing society’s most pressing issues.
  • A community of changemakers. Join a small, dedicated cohort of peers passionate about building a legacy of enduring value. Fellows are fully embedded in campus life: they will mentor Georgetown undergraduate students, foster intergenerational dialogues and make an impact on the next generation of leaders.
