Is the Fellowship for the Common Good a degree-granting or certificate program?

No, the Fellowship is not a degree-granting program; however, Fellows will walk away with an actionable Purpose Plan to guide their future work addressing the societal issue of their choice. Fellows may also audit a select number of Georgetown courses in the field of their interest with professor approval.

Do I need to identify as a Jesuit and/or Catholic to participate in the Fellowship program?

No; while the Fellowship for the Common Good is inspired by Jesuit values, we welcome applications from individuals of all faith traditions, as part of the University’s ongoing commitment to building an inviting and distinctive educational community.

Does the Fellowship program offer merit aid?

Yes, the Fellowship for the Common Good offers limited merit aid to applicants in the interest of increasing program accessibility. Partners and spouses of admitted Fellows may also attend a portion of the program at a discounted rate. Learn more about program tuition and fees.

Can the Fellowship program be completed remotely?

No. The program is fully in-person. Fellows will be based on Georgetown’s Capitol Campus for the duration of the program. Located in the heart of DC, just steps away from the U.S. Capitol, this campus grants Fellows unprecedented access to leading researchers, policymakers, and global changemakers.

Fellows are responsible for securing their own housing and accommodations. Applicants may visit the Office of Neighborhood Life’s webpage for more resources on off-campus housing.

Will fellows have access to Georgetown’s Hilltop Campus as well?

Yes! Free campus shuttles run between the Hilltop and Capitol Campuses on a regular schedule, allowing Fellows to attend lectures and other events of their interest. Fellows may also audit courses on both the Hilltop and Capitol Campuses with program approval.
